A Publishing Platform

Paint Everything runs on powerful software called Wordpress MU, the big brother of the popular blogging system Wordpress. Potentially, WPMU allows for up to thousands of users to create websites of their own or join what has already been created. Each user has complete control over his or her website and can utilize every feature of the system including themes and plugins. This means PaintEverything can be used to create anything from a simple one user blog to a multiuser community with forums, an online store, podcast and image gallery.

A Social Network

In addition to the creation of sites, Paint Everything will host a fully intergrated and feature rich social network through a WPMU plugin called BuddyPress. Registered users will be able to create a public profile that includes their information (name, interests, user avatar). This profile can be found from the social network’s dedicated page and from any page that the user has created or commented on. The user profile will also include a listing of posts from any project the user has published. Communication is also important on PaintEverything. Users can have conversations on group pages or profile walls. People can also add eachother as friends for quick collaberation or just to keep up-to-date on new postings.
